About

prof. Dr. Mustafa Şahin is an experienced academic specializing in archeology. Between 1981 and 1985, he completed his undergraduate studies at Atatürk University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Archeology, and then continued his master's and doctoral studies at the same university. His master's thesis is on "Hermogenes Problem" and his doctoral thesis is on "Miletupolis-originated tomb stela with figures and votive plates".

He started his career in 1990 as a Research Assistant at Selçuk University, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Department of Archeology. Dr. Şahin has progressed rapidly in his academic career. He became Associate Professor in 1997 and Professor in 2003. He worked as a professor at Selcuk University between 2003-2005, and in 2005 he moved to Bursa Uludag University Faculty of Science and Letters, Archeology Department, where he continues to work.

prof. Dr. Şahin's areas of expertise include archeology and classical archeology. He gave lectures on "Bursa and Its Surroundings in Antiquity", "Ancient Age Grave Plastics", "Current Approaches in Archaeological Research" and "2nd Century BC Sculpture Art", as well as many different courses.

He undertook various academic and administrative duties at Uludag University. These duties include Department Head, Application and Research Center Directorates, Department Quality Committee Head, Department Academic Incentive Evaluation Committee Head and Department Head.

Having served as a consultant in many theses written by his students, Prof. Dr. In this process, Şahin dealt with a wide range of topics about archeology and antiquity. Among these topics are studies such as "Cults in Mysia Olympos", "Romanization in Nikaia in the Light of Archaeological and Epigraphical Findings", "Villa Rustika in the Light of Mosaics" and "Underwater Remains of the Nikaia Coastline".

prof. Dr. Şahin is fluent in German and English, as well as advising many thesis projects.
